Hug it Out.

I read Gretchen Rubin's blog -

The Happiness Project

– all the time. It's candid, wise and philosophical without being preachy and dull. She explores different theories and strategies for making yourself happy. This week she was at the Plaza Library here in KC and I missed her! I missed her!

(Gretchen is also a KC native. Another midwestern jewel ...)

But I missed her book tour stop here in the Big City because I was out celebrating some long-anticipated good news, and that most certainly made me happy. Gretchen's commandments in action.

However, my happiness isn't the point here. I'm sharing one of her recent posts on 8 Tips for Maintaining Friendships.

While they are good ways to cultivate friendships, I also think they're creative ways to build professional networks, keep clients and co-workers in the buddy zone and widen your sphere outside the usual association events and obligatory cocktail hours.

Also some good things to keep in the back of your mind as you wander the road of client service, unanswered emails and unreturned calls.

Hint: Sometimes people just get busy. It's not worth a hissy fit every time.

Hug it out and be happy.
